Prepared for the Shaking

It’s 2019 and there’s a difference in the air. I’m not referring to just the ebb and flow of what comes when natural seasons change but there is a spiritual shift and shaking on the horizon that is already here.

Are you ready for it? Are you ready for Him?

Before the beginning of the year, the Lord revealed a shaking that’s coming to my personal life, the body of Christ, and the world. Specific dates or times weren’t given, but the call for us to prepare, to be sober and alert—and remain that way—was urgent.

See that ye refuse not Him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused Him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from Him that speaketh from heaven: Whose voice then shook the earth: but now He hath promised, saying, ‘Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.’ And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.

Hebrews 12:25-29, KJV (emphasis added)

Some of you have been in utter turmoil regarding the government shutdown, the presidency, and the wickedness on the rise—but should you be? I’m not at all belittling the severity of what it means but flow with me for a second. Should we as believers be removed from faith when chaos surrounds us? Should our witness be ruined when our plans run amuck? If we are moved by these things, we need to confront something more serious—the condition and posture of our hearts.

Take an honest look at these questions and answer them truthfully.

●      Have you been obedient to what you know the Lord called you to do?

●      Are you a good steward to what He’s entrusted unto you?

●      What’s your focus?

●      When was the last time your prayers like Jesus’ were that can be summed up as, “Nevertheless, not my will but Thine be done”?

●      Do you pray for the leaders of this land or because of your cultural paradigm and the ways of society you prey against them? And finally,

●      Are you a disciple of Christ and son/daughter of God?

These weren’t easy to ask, but we can endure when we deny ourselves, take up our crosses, and follow Him. And guess what? The shaking might even feel like the devil, but instead of figuring out who’s behind it, ensure that you’ll remain standing with godly fruit and roots that run deep.
