His Masterpiece, My Happiness
As I was searching within to see what this post’s topic would be about, the Lord brought to my remembrance my verse of the day:
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10, KJV
I posted an image with that and this caption on Instagram earlier today, emphasis added:
THIS is salvation! It’s not just about what we do, but it’s who we become BECAUSE OF JESUS CHRIST. We don’t have to find our truth, happiness, or way because He IS the Way, the Truth, and the Life. It’s when we have the life of Christ and are living boldly for Him that we can have true happiness! Oh, what a blessing it is to know that I’ve been beautifully created and artistically formed by the Master Builder Himself!
Our society is always telling us what’s real and what’s not real, who we can or cannot be, what to place value in, etc. The Word of God, the timeless instruction manual for living, the eternal 66-book love letter from Love Himself, is the sole authority in our lives, things of value, reality vs. the temporal, flighty things.
Salvation—It’s not a mystery because the Lord plainly states through Paul in Ephesians 2:8 that we didn’t earn salvation but it was given to us by God’s grace through the faith that has been placed within us. He’s given all of us the measure of faith; therefore salvation, according to His original design, is for all of us. However, everyone won’t receive this gift because of their choice. How awesome it is that we get to serve the Lord and walk with Jesus Christ, not because of force but because of desire.
Who we become—We were all created for God’s glory, but we get the chance to become glorious like Jesus Christ through fellowship with Him. Take a moment and read 2 Corinthians 5:17-21. Wow! We are new in Christ Jesus because of the blessedness of salvation. We are ministers of reconciliation. We are ambassadors of Christ. We are made the righteousness of God in Him. Now that is something to be happy about!
Beautifully created—Take a peek at Genesis 1:26-31. We were created in the image of God Himself! Now, take a peek at yourself in the mirror. Despite what your eyes try to tell you, you are God’s most prized creation because He created YOU in HIS image! Try that on for size and be at peace from the inside out. Feeling happy yet?
Artistically formed—Let’s journey to Psalm 139:15-17. Every minute detail about our lives, from our physical selves to what lies within, was created by God. Verse 14 states how marvelous are God’s thoughts and how wonderfully made we are. Every part of us has an incredible purpose. In the Gospels, Jesus Christ reminds us how even the very hairs on our heads are numbered. How dare we think that we need stuff to define us or take us to a happy place when the King of glory has imprinted Himself in our very DNA!
I know this post was lengthy, but I believe God wants us to remember the greatness of salvation we have in the Lord Jesus Christ, the fullness of who we become because of that salvation, and the wonder of who we are because of His glory. We don’t have to chart our path or navigate our course because He’s done that for us. Be happy and be encouraged today and don’t lose sight of the Truth!
