Test, After Test, After Test...

I’ve been going through a season of self-reflection, self-evaluation, healing, and transformation. Fasting, praying, and truly seeking God is the season I’ve been in for a while, and I’ve never came to trust God more during this time. I’m beginning to hear Him much more clearly because I’m spending more time with Him. The more you get to know someone, the easier it becomes to trust them, and the same holds true when it comes to our Heavenly Father. However, the closer you draw to God and follow his teachings the more pressure you feel of being like the world. Carnal and impure thoughts try to make their way into your mind, along with lies from the devil, and you begin to question everything that God’s been telling you. It can be a challenge living for God in a world that rejects him, but without God in your life, would you be living your life to its fullest potential? Let me break it down…

Can someone receive blessings and fortune without living for Christ? Absolutely. Matthew 5:45 says…”His sun shines on bad people and on good people. He sends rain on those who are right with God and on those who are not right with God.” Although you may be living for Christ according to Matthew, does not mean that you won’t have tests, trials, and tribulations. It simply means you’ll have the spiritual power to overcome them. In the parable in Matthew chapter 7 a wise man built his house on a rock, and the foolish man built his house on sand. It states that the rain came and fell on both houses, but the house built on a rock withstood the rain, while the house built on sand had a great fall. So see, when your foundation is in something solid-Jesus Christ-then you’ll be able to withstand the rains and storms that WILL enter your life. In this season of mediation and transformation I’ve had a peace come over me knowing that I’ll be able to endure ANYTHING that may occur in my life. You can hope for many things, but it’s knowing that your hope should only be in one thing which is Jesus Christ.

As you go through life you MUST let the Holy Spirit lead and guide you. Would you drive across the country without a road map? Probably not. So why would you try and navigate your life without any direction? Test, after test, after test is GOING to occur and there’s no way around it. And each test becomes more difficult and complex than the last, because you keep passing the previous tests. That is how your character is built, that is how your faith is strengthened, and that is how God is able to trust you with more. If you want to receive all that God has to offer you, which is the world, then accept the tests with gratitude, and pass them with confidence. With the Holy Spirit living inside of you, and you’re honoring God in all aspects of your life, and truly striving to be like him, then there’s no limit as to what you’ll experience while here on earth.
