Fly Like An Eagle

The Eagle Christian by Kenneth Price

We’ve all heard the verse Isaiah 40:31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” This book breaks down the wonder of the eagle and how it is used in in the Bible to reference our daily walk with God. The author introduces life of the eagle from birth until leaving the nest and uses this process as an example of how we as Christians need to exemplify our own life.

Chapters are broken down in a way that covers a stage in life that we all can or have at one time identified with. Some of the chapters for example are named “The Eagle’s Source of Strength,” “Eagle Homemaker,” “The Eagle in the Storm,” etc. My favorite chapter in the book is chapter 3 “The Eagle’s Source of Strength.” This is my favorite chapter because the author notes how important our spiritual diets are by way of comparing it to the eagle’s diet.  According to the book an eagle chooses his diet just as we are to choose our spiritual diet-attending church, fellowshipping with God, surrounding ourselves with Godly counsel, etc. In this chapter the author states, “…the eagle Christian is a finicky eater. He must discern his appetite…” I love how the book places our lives into perspective and how we are compared to this powerful, beautiful creature.

This book overall is a very short read which could make for a nice activity on a plane ride or road trip; it’s only about 65 pages long. The author’s parallelism and approach to scriptures is great and refreshing. I would recommend this book to anyone who is seeking purpose in God’s kingdom and power within themselves. If you desire to know how to soar high on wings like eagles, then this is definitely the book for you. We’d love to know how you feel about the book.
